We’re excited to have been shortlisted in 3 categories at the upcoming EVCOM Clarion Awards 2020, which celebrate and reward cause-driven creativity across the corporate film and live events sectors.

Our work for British Red Cross, Mermaids UK and StreetDoctors are shortlisted for Social Welfare, Diversity and Inclusion and Health and Wellbeing, respectively. You can watch and read more about each shortlisted entry below, or access the full shortlist on the EVCOM Clarion Awards website.

EVCOM Clarion Awards received a record number of film entries this year and it’s a huge achievement to be shortlisted. A set of industry expert judges reviewed all work through an individual scoring process, and then came together to agree that all the work honoured meets the standard of excellence.

A huge thank you to the judges, and congratulations to everyone shortlisted! A special thank you to our partners over at British Red Cross, Mermaids UK and StreetDoctors for working with us and trusting us to create these brave and surprising films.

Social Welfare: Rebuilding Lives for British Red Cross

Based on the concept of missing pieces, Rebuilding Lives. #EveryRefugee Matters explores the link between the fragmented lives of refugees and the parts the British Red Cross help them rebuild. It follows the experience of many refugees who, often after a perilous journey, have lost key parts of the livelihood, family and identity and need crucial support with things like housing, education and employment. The video became British Red Cross’ most shared content ever on Instagram and Twitter, and achieved over 250,000 views across all channels. It went on to exceed all targets across 14 specific KPIs, including 28 pieces of national and regional coverage, engaging more than 40 MPs and earning almost twice the targeted number of new followers. Diversity and Inclusion: ETHAN for Mermaids UK

This film uses an arcade game to visualise Ethan’s journey; with bullies and the struggles of coming out as trans becoming antagonists and hurdles to overcome. The game takes you through three stylised levels, each representing a different milestone or turning point in Ethan’s journey. Through live action and animation, it tells a powerful, emotive story, highlighting Ethan as just like any other 18 year old. The film was produced for Mermaids UK after we won a competition for LGBTQ+ inclusive advertising in 2018. Read more about ETHAN.

Health and Wellbeing: #APPLYPRESSURE for StreetDoctors

This powerful campaign shows you what to do if you find someone bleeding, and was produced pro-bono for StreetDoctors as part of our CSR initiative to support small charities with amazing content. It strategically focuses on the most important parts of StreetDoctors’ training – calling an ambulance, making sure you are safe and then applying pressure to the wound. These simple actions can be lifesaving and knowing them can help reduce casualties caused by street violence. With a total media spend of just £440 the film accrued almost 2 million impressions and 450,000 video views across all channels, far exceeding our initial targets. Read more about #APPLYPRESSURE.

The winning entries will be announced at the EVCOM Clarion Awards Virtual ceremony on 16th July at 4pm. You can find out more about the ceremony and buy tickets here.
