5 things you didn’t know about War Child UK’s #EscapeRobot

Our very own Thomas Paul Martin led the charge with a look behind the curtain of War Child’s #EscapeRobot campaign. Taking click-bait to the big screen, he shared 5 things you didn’t know about the campaign, including a behind-the-scenes look at the original concept and never before seen sketches of the robot costume. Click here to read and download Tom’s session.

Creating opportunistic content

Amy Dennis, Digital Editor at The Children’s Society, shared how a 600 word webpage stealthily became the charity’s most successful content campaign this year. From identifying an audience need to making the most of media coverage, Amy explains how she built on this content to earn cut-through, traffic and engagement.  Click here to read and download Amy’s session.

Our favourite feat: creating a legendary running campaign

Chloe George, Content Manager at Teenage Cancer Trust, explained how her charity made the most of their recent partnership with Virgin Money London Marathon. She explained how creating online communities helped to drive fundraising among their runners, and how they found a campaign concept that was simple, clear and flexible while cutting above the noise and working for multiple audiences. Click here to read and download Chloe’s session.

Building awareness to preventing drowning – How the RNLI have developed a marketing campaign that directly helps save lives

Ross MacLeod, Senior Marketing Manager at RNLI, shared fascinating behind the hugely successful #FloatToLive campaign. Harnessing digital to tackle the Nigeria mines crisis at parliamentary level

Vimal Patel, Founder of FARM Digital, talked through an interesting case study for Mines Advisory Group (MAG). The objective was to set the new landmine emergency in Nigeria as a priority in all humanitarian response planning. By growing MAG’s digital audience with a new website and social media activity, the campaign increased MAG’s public profile and earned almost 3 x the target number of petition signatures. Click here to download Vim’s session.

My favourite campaign story of 2018 (and what we can all learn from it)

At IFC Holland 2018, Fiona Koch, Account Planner & Director at Raw London, was lucky enough to see a session run by Lori Davison, Head of Brand at SickKids Foundation, and Daniel Shearer, Team Lead for SickKids Campaign at Cossette Agency. The session was called ‘SickKids VS Apathy: a deep dive on the success of a groundbreaking healthcare campaign, what worked and what didn’t’. Fiona was so inspired by this session that she took the opportunity to share what she had learned in her session. Click here to read and download Fiona’s session.

Thank you to everyone who attended and especially to our speakers – once again we received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Interested in our next event? Here’s how to get involved.

These quarterly events are exclusive to those working within the charity sector and are designed to help charities network, keep up with trends and make the best possible use of their content. If you’re interested in speaking at future events or would like to learn more, please contact ryan@raw.london.

This was a particularly special one for us as we launched the new name of the series: Relay.

We chose Relay because they’re about giving people the chance to pass on their experiences and insight to help others succeed. Over the past 2 years we’ve been joined by some incredible organisations and have had consistently positive feedback with 100% of attendees saying they would recommend the event to their colleagues.

The next event will take place in February 2019. Please note that these events are invite-only, so sign up to our mailing list to secure your place.
